These two vineyards sit at opposite ends of the village. Barre
to the north on the Volnay side and Gruyaches to the south
on the Puligny side. Barre is the more expressive of the two
with more mid-palate weight and whilst the Gruyaches,
which sits just below Charmes, is more reductive and linear.
Both enjoy subtle oak influence and have plenty of matière to
give them life and longevity.
