2018 Brunello di Montalcino, Tenuta Le Potazzine

Gigliola loves the elegance of her 2018 Brunello – and we wholeheartedly agree. But it was a tough wine to make owing to a damp, cool growing season in 2018, necessitating extra work in the vineyard and at the sorting table: in fact, they jettisoned around 20% of the crop in the pursuit of a pristine wine. This is a floral, fine-boned Brunello that feels approachable even now, yet there’s no doubt it will age gracefully. Gigliola compares her ’18 to the ’09 (a similarly cool vintage) which is drinking brilliantly now. Drinking window: 2025-2037
