2013 Beaune 1er Cru Les Cents Vignes, Domaine Rapet Père & Fils

This has lovely freshness and vivacity for a wine of 13 years old, but it shows some appealing tertiary characteristics too, with aromas of dried fruit and sous bois. While the tannins are beautifully integrated, there’s plenty of matière on the mid-palate and, towards the finish, the moreish sapidity that’s a hallmark of Domaine Rapet’s reds. Matured in 20% new oak barriques.
